This is the main annual show for the Society and is a gathering for all those interested in the hobby of plastic scale modelling. It is also an opportunity for the public – whether young or old – to see displays of models, and other related attractions, including many model traders’ stalls.
The show also hosts IPMS Ireland’s annual model competition which is open to entries from both members and non-members and includes categories for junior (under 16) modellers.

Awards are presented in more than 38 competition categories covering scale models of aircraft and vehicles both civilian and military, ships and submarines, historical figures and busts, dioramas, science fiction, and fantasy subjects.
Thirteen Special Awards are also presented to winning entries, culminating in Best of Show award. All of the models in the competition are on display and members of the public have the opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice Award, based on the votes of all those visiting the show.
Last year, the show welcomed 535 visitors, and with children under fourteen being free, it’s hoped that figure will increase this year. More than 290 models were entered into competition last year with at least another 50 also on display. With entries and visitors coming from all over the island of Ireland and with some from the UK and Europe, it’s a fun weekend out for all the family. There’s also plenty of free car parking on site at the hotel.
Admission to the show is €5 per adult, covering both days of the show, with accompanied children under 14 free.
